THE ROOM OVER THE CEMETERY PASSAGE
Situated over the cemetery passage is a barrel- vaulted chamber that is a particular feature of a grandmontine east range. A small section of it can still be seen. Accessible from the dormitory, the use of this room has remained controversial for years. There are those who consider it to be an infirmary, others believe that it was used for the night offices (vigiles), especially in winter.
